Honey is made by bees for bees, and it is widely considered by various groups and individuals that their health can be sacrificed when it is harvested by humans. Importantly, harvesting honey does not correlate with The Vegan Society’s definition of veganism, which seeks to exclude not just cruelty, but exploitation.

Honey is an energy source for bees and provides them with essential nutrients during the Winter period. Some beekeepers may use unethical and unpractical methods that can be harmful to the health of the bees and potentially spread disease. Therefore, that is why vegans choose not to consume honey as it can be considered cruel and exploitative.

“Honey is made by Bees for Bees”

The world’s bee population is recognised as being in decline and yet the demand for honey is going up. Here at Jack Berry™ we are giving people a delicious alternative.

“A honey alternative made by Humans for Humans”

What are the ingredients in our NO BEE Vegan Honee®?

Inverted sugar syrup – Inverted sugar syrup or invert sugar is an edible mixture of two simple sugars.  The syrup is produced by introducing heat and water to break down glucose and fructose molecules that are bonded together in straight sucrose. This disaccharide bond is broken down so that the glucose and fructose molecules are free and this inversion process produces partial and full inverted sugar syrup.  Inverted syrup is slightly sweeter.

Citric Acid – Citric acid is a weak acid which is found naturally in citrus fruits such as lemons, limes and oranges. It is what gives them their tart, sour taste. Because of its acidic, sour-tasting nature, citric acid is predominantly used as a natural flavouring and preserving agent — especially in soft drinks, jams, jellies and other sweet items.

Citric acid helps the body to convert food energy into cellular energy via a process called the citric acid cycle. Along with its role in energy production, citric acid enhances calcium, phosphorous, and magnesium absorption through the gut.

Floral scents and esters – Esters are compounds which are found naturally in flowers, fruits, vegetables, herbs, spices and perfumes. Esters are edible.
